CAPITAL HILL, MONROVIA – The Suehn Industrial Mission Alumni Association of Liberia has officially honored the President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, for her commitment to upholding the rule of law and her consistent promotion of women's leadership across the country.
The certificate of honor was presented to the Senate Leader during a courtesy visit to her Capitol Hill office in Monrovia.
Speaking on behalf of the alumni association, Dr. Morris Y. Harris expressed profound gratitude to the Pro-Tempore for her impactful leadership and the transformative work she is spearheading at the Liberian Senate.
"We thank the Pro-Tempore for the level of work she is doing at the Liberian Senate," Dr. Harris stated during the presentation, emphasizing that her governance style serves as an inspiration for women's empowerment and legal integrity in Liberia.
Beyond the honoring ceremony, the association used the high-profile meeting to advocate for a major educational revival. Dr. Harris informed Senator Karnga-Lawrence that the alumni association is actively soliciting funds to reestablish the historic Suehn Industrial Mission School, located in Bomi County.
According to Dr. Harris, the institution has been defunct for the past 36 years. The delegation emphasized that resurrecting the school is vital for restoring quality education and vocational training to the region's youth.
In response, the President Pro-Tempore welcomed the delegation and acknowledged the association's efforts.
